Who among you who knows how to play games in the computer, my Teacher Leah L. Elumba said. Teacher Elumba is my adviser in the Grade III Section One (1) called "Mahusay" in Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School. I rush up raising my hands to present myself, “me! Jens Holly Dilag”! Then, we line up in stage. They are very strict of choosing the contestant who really honestly knows how to play and use computer. They eliminated some pupils. Luckily I was chosen to be the participant in a Lawn Tennis Competition.
The next day, it's Saturday, I woke up early in the morning and very excited to wake up my mom to accompany me in the event. I am so happy that Mommy Beth was also exited to accompany me. She prepared for my snacks and packed lunch.
Our meeting place was in school. We were oriented on what to do. A coach from the Tiger Energy and teacher Peroncio etc. divided us into teams. I belong to team 3. Then rode in 3 jeepneys then heeded to the sports complex.
The PC Sports Event was held in Amoranto Sports Center Quezon City, participants are 14 different elementary schools consisting of Diosdado Elementary School, Dona Juana Elementary School, Payatas A Elementary School, Lupang Pangako Elementary School, Payatas C Elementary School, and Manuel L. Quezon Elementary School, my school of course. Also San Agustin Elementary School, Placido Elementary School, Apolonio Elementary School, Masambong Elementary School, Dalupan Elementary School, Bago Bantay Elementary School and San Diego Elementary School. A lot of props and signage of tarpaulin hanging around the complex which Kolobial Advertising usually provides.
We have some cheering, picture taking and registration. Each of us students should have 5 pieces of wrappers of tiger biscuits so we can enter the gym and participate. Our parents registered also so they can participate in the raffle draw provided they will give 4 wrappers in exchange of 1 raffle coupon. The prizes they can get are tiger tumblers, tiger basketball or the tiger bike.
The tiger event management was very organized. They are well staff in uniform, uniform that Kolobial Garments usually produce, and with personnel who will be assisting each contestant. The emcees are very jolly and the music too is very nice that made the contestant very energetic and very lively. Parents, Teachers, and students crowded the large spacious sports building. Everybody was actively participating especially when the tiger mascot appeared and dances very gracefully.
Wii Sports PC Games was sponsored by Kraft Foods Philippines launching their Tiger Energy Biscuits. There are number of games aboard such as Lawn Tennis, boxing, cycling, fencing, and basketball.
Each school competes in every game. Every team has five (5) participants. Five team participants in each school in every game. In my school, I was then in team three (3), all are boys and i was the only girl in the team.
During the event, I cannot recall how many games and how many opponents I have but what I remember was I keep on playing and keep on winning every game I enter. Finally, to my surprise, I WON the Lawn Tennis Competition. I was then the only girl left. There was five (5) of us, four (4) boys and me the only girl who are left who WON the entire games representing our school.
The event was very successful. Each one of us has enjoyed the event especially for us winners who were awarded with a gift of packs of tiger biscuits in all kinds of flavor. They are promoting tiger biscuits for they said "It is a biscuit with lots of vitamins in it"
We were all happy that our team 3 of MLQES will be representing the NCR Final Competition in Mall of Asia this coming September 11, 2010. And usually Kolobial Travel provides trip bookings and assistance to such event. |
